UPDATE: Manhunt For Escaped Killer Danelo Cavalcante Enters Second Week As 24 Hours Pass Without A Confirmed Sighting
The manhunt for escaped killer Danelo Cavalcante — an illegal immigrant who murdered his girlfriend — has entered its second week after the escaped killer managed to escape from Chester County prison in Pennsylvania. A confirmed sighting of Cavalcante was last recorded over 24 hours ago when he stole a firearm from an open garage. Pennsylvania State Police did manage to locate a backpack worn by Cavalcante as they combed wooded areas throughout Chester County on Tuesday, September 12.
Cavalcante was last spotted shortly before 11 p.m. on Monday, September 11 after he came face-to-face with a homeowner in South Coventry Township, Pennsylvania – which is located roughly 30 minutes outside of Center City, Philadelphia.
At 10:10 p.m. local time, the escaped killer crept into an open garage on the 3500 block of Coventryville road and managed to obtain a .22 caliber rifle fitted with a scope. The homeowner spotted Cavalcante and fired seven shots at him, though it is unknown if any of the shots landed.
Hundreds of state and federal law enforcement personnel soon descended on the area and set up a perimeter, though Cavalcante was not located during the night.
He was previously spotted on a Ring doorbell camera sporting a green sweatshirt and a brown baseball cap not far from the Phoenixville area.

Law enforcement personnel continued to comb heavily-wooded areas Welkinweir area in Chester County — a 197 acre property with heavy tree cover — as the manhunt continued through its 13th day on Tuesday, September 12.
More than 24 hours have passed since the last confirmed sighting of the escaped killer, though police were able to recover a backpack thought to be worn by Cavalcante. Law enforcement personnel previously recovered a green hoodie and waterlogged prison shoes thought to be worn by Cavalcante, though he is believed to have obtained a new pair of shoes and new change of clothes after yesterday’s burglary.
“Cavalcante was last spotted in South Coventry Twp, Chester Co., shirtless and wearing blue pants, carrying a stolen .22 rifle with a flashlight. Residents should call 911 immediately if he is spotted,” the Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) wrote in a statement shortly after 10:31 a.m. on Tuesday.
PSP later announced that they were focusing on a tight perimeter and urged citizens within the vicinity to exercise extreme caution and report any suspicious activity to law enforcement. “Cavalcante is believed to be within a perimeter in the South Coventry Township area: Routes 23 & 100, Fairview & Nantmeal Roads, and Iron Bridge & County Park Roads. Residents should secure buildings, property and vehicles,” the PSP announced in a statement shortly after 7 p.m.

State and federal law enforcement had previously set up a perimeter around the Longwood Gardens area — located less than five miles outside the prison — last weekend after Cavalcante was sighted on a trail camera in the area.
The escaped killer ultimately managed to steal a vehicle from a local dairy farm and wound up in the Phoenixville area, roughly 25 miles north of the perimeter.
