WATCH: Biden Seen Rocking Clunky Sneakers To Avoid Stumbles
President Joe Biden was spotted lugging a thick-soled pair of black sneakers during a recent campaign event, prompting critics to mock the aging incumbent over his instability on his feet and his team’s full-blown attempt to keep him from falling again through Election Day.
The New York Post spotted a handful of scornful responses to Biden’s “Hoka Transport” sneakers, which were described by Inside Edition as being “designed for maximum comfort and support while walking or hiking.”
With no running or hiking on the horizon for the 80-year-old, Biden is no doubt hoping to steady himself during his daily shufflings from podiums to Air Force One, Marine One, the Beast motorcade car, or anywhere he has previously been photographed making a mess of things.
“Biden’s handlers are forcing him to wear a new pair of ‘lifestyle sneakers’ because he trips so much,” wrote an arm of the Republican National Committee on X.
WATCH:
Axios previously reported that Biden’s handlers have hatched a comprehensive plan to keep Biden on his feet which also includes sending the president up a smaller auxiliary set of stairs to Air Force One while preparing to direct him off stage in the event that he tries to walk through a back wall. The utter confusion has been parodied by former President Donald Trump on multiple occasions as he goes off-script to imitate his chief rival and declare that “the stuff they’re giving him is wearing off!”
Inside Edition’s full segment on Biden’s “boat anchor” shoes, as some observers have called them, is another headache for an administration that is struggling to convince Americans that the president has the stamina for another five years in the White House. Should he win reelection, he will emerge from office at the age of 86, the oldest president in American history.
Deep majorities of the general public, and even Democrats, have expressed reservations about Biden’s age, a sentiment only ingrained with each trip, stumble, or other senior moment that leaves viewers scratching their heads. In 2021, Biden took back-to-back spills while ascending Air Force One’s grand staircase.
Online commentators couldn’t resist taking shots at President Biden over his new kicks while others credited him with playing it safe in an election year.
“Why not just make him wear a helmet and bubble wrap suit?” one X user wrote.

“Stabilizing the feet is all well and good but what corrects the brain function that controls the act of walking?” wrote another commenting on Biden’s struggles with a stutter and multiple lapses of memory in private and public.
