WATCH: GOP Rep. Higgins Manhandles Socialist Agitator During Press Conference
A young man with a camera who disrupted a press conference by several House Republicans was forcibly removed from the area by Congressman Clay Higgins (R-LA) after refusing repeated requests to wait until the end to ask his questions.
Jake Burdett, a self-described Democratic Socialist, got into it with Rep. Higgins following his attempts to ask Rep. Paul Gosar (R-AZ) about meeting with ‘groyper’ Nick Fuentes and Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) about her ongoing divorce.
In the clips, Burdett can be seen yelling questions at both members while they gave remarks from a podium outside, leading Higgins to come over and promise to answer all of his questions if he politely waited until their remarks were finished. Burdett refused, leading the Louisiana congressman to physically move the agitator several dozen feet away and hold him until Capitol police arrived.
Another attendee captured the interaction between Rep. Higgins and Burdett which shows Higgins wrapping his arms around the man and walking him backward to the end of the sidewalk. Several fellow protestors quickly came to Burdett’s defense, telling Higgins to let him go while pulling out their phones to film the spectacle.

Burdett posted more clips of the incident:
I am currently being detained by DC Police for asking tough questions to far right extremist Congressmen @RepGosar and @laurenboebert at a press conference. Rep Clay Higgins proceeded to assault/physically remove me from the press conference. For this, the cops detained me,not him pic.twitter.com/iX4yjCGKsZ

In a final clip posted by Burdett, Capitol police ask the young man to stay away from the ongoing press conference and share his side of the incident, something he refuses to do while attempting to wrap up their questions and get back to the press conference.
The public feud was not the only one to occur in Washington this week. On Wednesday, Rep. Jamaal Bowman (D-NY) heckled embattled Rep. George Santos (R-NY) in front of reporters before turning his fire at Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA). Greene, refusing to back down, traded words with Bowman over the debt ceiling, missing migrant children, and other topics before Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez jumped in, telling Bowman, “She ain’t worth it, bro.”
