WATCH: Joy Reid Says She Carries Around A Copy Of Trump’s Indictments Like A ‘Pretend Bible’
MSNBC’s Joy Reid gleefully shared that she carries around a copy of former President Donald Trump’s indictments like a “pretend bible.”
Reid was joined by former FBI general counsel and lead investigator in the Russian collusion conspiracy Andrew Weissmann to discuss the ongoing criminal trial against former President Donald Trump in Manhattan. “I forgot my copy of my book. I always bring the Trump indictments book everywhere I go. I take it around like Trump takes his pretend Bible,” Reid said after introducing Weissman and January 6 Committee lead investigator Timothy Hasey.
While left-wing pundits have claimed that the Trump indictments are about upholding the “rule of law,” Reid has been unable to contain herself and has frequently confirmed that political nature of the cases.
Just last week, an ecstatic Reid celebrated how “DEI” prosecutors have brought cases against the former president while insinuating that prosecuting the leading Republican contender for president is a race-based revenge operation.
“There is something wonderfully poetic about the fact that despite the fact that even if convicted, he’s not going to go to prison. The first person to actually criminally prosecute Donald Trump is a black Harvard grad, the very kind of person that his former staff, the people who worked for him, Stephen Miller, etc. want to never be at Harvard Law School,” Reid said. “But he was. And he came out and graduated he’s prosecuting you, Donald.”
“And a black woman is doing that same exact thing in Georgia and a black woman forced you to pay a $175 million fine,” she continued.
Earlier this year, Reid complained that Iowa contained too many white Christians while covering the state’s caucuses. “These are white Christians. That this is a state that is over represent overrepresented by white Christians… Iowa is about 61% white Christian,” said Reid. “The country as a whole is approximately 41% white Christian and in Iowa we’re talking about evangelical white Christians.”
Former President Trump has been bogged down in Manhattan for the last week while he defends himself against Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s dubious indictment.
Legal experts have repeatedly poked holes in the case against Trump brought forward by Bragg. The Manhattan D.A. used COVID-era policies to expand the statute of limitations on an administrative payment error, which is generally a misdemeanor. Bragg then upgraded the charge to a felony, citing a “conspiracy” to commit another crime. The other crime has never been specified by Bragg.
He then copy/pasted the same charge 33 times, one for each administrative error, and charged the former president with 37 felonies.
