In a tweet, Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) passionately expressed her belief that the country is now “post-Constitution” and likened the situation to communism.
Greene began her statement by discussing the recent indictment of former President Donald Trump in Washington, DC. She asserted that Trump has no chance of receiving a fair trial in the Washington, DC court. She expanded to include all Republicans, arguing that they would not receive fair trials either.
She drew parallels between Trump’s indictment and statements made by other political figures like Hillary Clinton and Stacey Abrams, who also claimed that their respective elections were stolen. Greene was outraged at the double standards. “Hillary Clinton didn’t get indicted for saying her election is stolen. As a matter of fact, no one gets indicted on the left. Nothing ever happens.”
“In the summer of 2020, BLM and Antifa violently rioted all over the country. And you had then Senator Kamala Harris sharing the Minnesota Freedom Fund bail bond link to bail out criminal rioters.” She criticized the handling of these events, pointing towards evidence of a greater trend towards “real communism in America.”
WATCH:
She cited several examples to illustrate the belief that America is now in a ‘post-Constitution’ era, ranging from border invasions and drug trafficking to foreign wars, political indictments, and the controversial issue of biological men participating in women’s sports.
“I’m sorry, it feels pretty much like we’re post-constitution because it feels like communism in America today when President Trump is being indicted and having to show up and be arraigned and arrested and processed in a court where he has no chance of having a fair trial.”
The underlying sentiments of mistrust, frustration, and disillusionment that Greene expressed are reflective of millions of Americans, and a broader political divide that continues to widen.
REACTIONS:
EVERY Republican Congress person ought to be standing in front of the court house refusing to allow this miscarriage of justice to even take place. Every individual who goes along with it is condoning it. If you want your Constitution you have to put your foot down and say to theโฆ
