WHOA: Justice Alito Skewers Global Elites Furious Over His Dobbs Decision, “Boris Johnson Paid the Price” [WATCH]
Justice Samuel Alito is the Supreme Court Justice who had the spine necessary to stand up to the ever-cowardly Chief Justice John Roberts and rule in a reasonable, honest way on Roe v. Wade and Casey v. Planned Parenthood in the Dobbs decision, finding that those two prior cases were illogical and could not stand, thus returning Roe to the states. As he put it in his opinion:
We hold that Roe and Casey must be overruled. The Constitution makes no reference to abortion, and no such right is implicitly protected by any constitutional provision, including the one on which the defenders of Roe and Casey now chiefly rely—the Due Process Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment. That provision has been held to guarantee some rights that are not mentioned in the Constitution, but any such right must be “deeply rooted in this Nation’s history and tradition” and “implicit in the concept of ordered liberty.” Washington v. Glucksberg, 521 U. S. 702, 721 (1997) (internal quotation marks omitted).
The right to abortion does not fall within this category. Until the latter part of the 20th century, such a right was entirely unknown in American law. Indeed, when the Fourteenth Amendment was adopted, three quarters of the States made abortion a crime at all stages of pregnancy. The abortion right is also critically different from any other right that this Court has held to fall within the Fourteenth Amendment’s protection of “liberty.” Roe’s defenders characterize the abortion right as similar to the rights recognized in past decisions involving matters such as intimate sexual relations, contraception, and marriage, but abortion is fundamentally different, as both Roe and Casey acknowledged, because it destroys what those decisions called “fetal life” and what the law now before us describes as an “unborn human being.”
Predictably, the left was absolutely outraged by that ruling, freaking out over the idea that maybe they wouldn’t be allowed to murder babies in the womb whenever they wanted to do so.
In fact, leftists around the world joined in and criticized the Dobbs decision despite the fact that the new abortion restrictions passed by many states in the wake of it are no more severe or restrictive than those in Europe, where the 12 week rule that has become the rule in many red states has been the norm for a long while.
But, still, the globalist elites freaked out over the decision and attacked Alito for it, with even some of our strongest allies, nations like France and the UK, joining in the attack on the US over Alito’s opinion.
Well, Justice Alito didn’t take their criticism lying down. He hit back hard and mocked them in a video released Thursday by the University of Notre Dame Law School, skewering former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, French President Emmanuel Macron, and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

As you can hear in the video, Alito, mocking those global elites as the audience roars with applause and laughter, said:
“Over the last few weeks since I had the honor this term of writing, I think the only Supreme Court decision in the history of that institution that has been lambasted by a whole string of foreign leaders who felt perfectly fine commenting on American law.
“One of these was former Prime Minister Boris Johnson. But he paid the price.Post hoc ergo propter hoc, right?
“But others are still, are still in office. President Macron and Prime Minister Trudeau, I believe, are, too. But what really wounded me, what really wounded me, was when the Duke of Sussex addressed the United Nations and seemed to compare the decision, whose name may not be spoken, with the Russian attack on Ukraine.”
Good stuff, though whatever he says now will always pale in comparison to his genius ruling in Dobbs and the many lives he saved with those brave words.
