MUST-SEE: Heart-Stopping Footage Shows Moment Would-Be Bomber Is Subdued By Heroic Officers

A suspected terror plot outside New York City’s Gracie Mansion took a dramatic turn as newly released video shows one of the accused being slammed to the pavement moments after allegedly hurling a homemade explosive.

Ibrahim Kayumi, 19, of Newtown, Pennsylvania, and 18-year-old Emir Balat are accused of tossing live explosive devices into a protest crowd outside Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s residence on March 7 after driving in from Bucks County, federal officials said.

Footage obtained by FreedomNews.TV captures the chaos. Balat is seen being tackled by an NYPD officer as Chief Aaron Edwards shouts, “Get him.” Seconds later, someone in the crowd can be heard yelling “bomb” as officers swarm.

Prosecutors say photos show the pair handling what investigators later identified as an explosive device packed with TATP and rigged with nuts and bolts using duct tape.

Balat allegedly made chilling statements after his arrest, telling authorities he wanted the attack to be “bigger than the Boston Marathon bombing.”

Police brass say the threat was real.

“This is being investigated as an act of ISIS-inspired terrorism,” NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch said.

According to federal prosecutors, Balat also allegedly signed a written pledge to ISIS after being taken into custody.

“All praise is due to Allah lord of all worlds! I pledge my allegiance to the Islamic State,” Balat allegedly wrote. “We take action.”

The investigation quickly spread beyond New York.

During a search of a storage unit tied to the case in Langhorne, Pennsylvania, agents uncovered explosive material, officials said.

“Yesterday’s search of the storage unit believed to be connected to the Gracie Mansion incident revealed explosive residue. FBI Special Agent Bomb Technicians and the local bomb squads conducted a controlled detonation to ensure the safety of law enforcement and others in the area. We’re thankful for the assistance of the FBI Philadelphia Field Office and the local Middletown and Newton agencies who assisted our office throughout the night,” FBI New York posted on X.

Authorities also say Balat purchased bomb-making materials days before the incident. Surveillance video reviewed by investigators shows him buying a 20-foot roll of fuse from Phantom Fireworks in Penndel, Pennsylvania, on March 2.
