NEW: World Leader Pledges To Expose Mamdani At UN

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is escalating his feud with New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani, vowing to confront the Democrat’s accusations when he addresses the United Nations General Assembly this week.

Netanyahu released a video message Tuesday directly targeting Mamdani after the mayor renewed his criticism of the Israeli leader over the war in Gaza.

“Shame on you, Mr. Mamdani. Shame on you for supporting the Hamas terrorist monsters who butchered our people. Shame on you for inciting riots against New York Jews,” Netanyahu said in a fiery video message on X.

Netanyahu then said he planned to use his appearance at the U.N. to defend Israel’s military and respond to Mamdani personally.

“I’m coming to the UN. I’m going to tell the truth about our heroic soldiers and I’m gonna tell the truth about you,” Netanyahu vowed.

The confrontation follows months of criticism from Mamdani, who has repeatedly called Netanyahu a war criminal and accused Israel’s government of committing genocide against Palestinians in Gaza.

Israel has rejected the genocide allegation and says its military campaign is aimed at Hamas following the terrorist group’s Oct. 7, 2023, attack on Israel.

Mamdani previously explored whether New York City could enforce an International Criminal Court arrest warrant for Netanyahu if the Israeli prime minister visited the city.

The mayor later acknowledged that New York City does not have the independent legal authority to carry out the ICC warrant and instead called on the federal government to act.

The United States is not a member of the International Criminal Court.

Mamdani again addressed Netanyahu during a CNN interview Monday.

“When it comes to Benjamin Netanyahu, I have described him as I believe him to be — a war criminal and an architect of a horrific genocide of the Palestinian people,” Mamdani said.

The ICC issued an arrest warrant for Netanyahu in 2024 over alleged war crimes and crimes against humanity.

Netanyahu and the Israeli government have rejected the allegations and challenged the court’s authority.

The latest war of words also comes after Mamdani disputed claims that he had encouraged New Yorkers to protest Netanyahu’s visit.

Zohran Mamdani said last week that he had not encouraged demonstrations but maintained that New Yorkers have a First Amendment right to protest.

Netanyahu’s video nevertheless accused the mayor of supporting Hamas and fueling hostility toward Jewish New Yorkers.

Mamdani has rejected accusations that his criticism of the Israeli government amounts to support for Hamas.

Netanyahu is expected to use his U.N. appearance to defend Israel’s military operations and push back against international criticism surrounding the war.

The clash sets up another high-profile confrontation around the U.N. gathering in New York, with Netanyahu and Mamdani now trading accusations as world leaders descend on the city.
