WATCH: ‘The View’ Hosts MELT DOWN After ‘The Rock’ Rescinds His Biden Endorsement
The ladies of “The View” suffered a major meltdown earlier this month because of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s recent interview with Fox News.
Earlier in April, “The Rock” rescinded his 2020 endorsement of President Joe Biden, telling Fox that he wouldn’t be making that mistake a second time.
“Am I happy about the state of America right now? Well, that answer is no,” Johnson said. “The endorsement that I made years ago with Biden was one I thought was the best decision for me at that time. I’m in this position where I have some influence and it’s my job then… to exercise my influence to share with who this is who I’m going to endorse.”
That set off a chorus of boos from the audience while Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin, and several other cast members of the ABC morning show accused the professional wrestler and actor of abdicating his “obligation” to oppose former President Donald Trump.
“Why should I care what anyone says on Fox News where they lie every day?” Behar asks her colleagues in a clip spotlighted by the American Tribune. “Number two, should celebrities endorse public figures?”
“If they want to,” said Ana Navarro. “Celebrities are American citizens. You don’t lose your right as a citizen because you are a celebrity.” She mentioned seeing The Rock at the 2000 Republican and Democratic National Conventions, not endorsing either presidential candidate but “raising awareness for voting” among young people.
However, that wasn’t enough to stop the wrath of Sunny Hostin.
“I think we are living in a time where we have someone running for president that is an existential threat to democracy,” she said as the crowd of lemmings cheered. “Now is a time if you have a platform, you must be active. You must speak out. You have a platform, you have an obligation.”
Sara Haines came to Johnson’s defense, saying any notion that “sheep will fall in line” from a celebrity’s endorsement “minimizes” the autonomy of voters to make up their own minds. Behar came back around to mock online users for trolling Robert de Niro because he’s come out forcefully against Trump this year.
“The Rock endorsed Biden last time and now he says he’s not endorsing anybody. But Trump has gotten worse since then,” she added.

Comparisons were drawn with Taylor Swift, who posted her own milquetoast voter advocacy message on Super Tuesday and has remained enigmatic about whether she will repeat her 2020 endorsement of Biden.
Whether Americans are moved by the beliefs of Hollywood heavyweights remains to be seen. In the meantime, supporters of Trump have pointed to a slew of endorsements among lower-level actors, hip-hop artists, and sports figures as evidence that his influence over pop culture and appeal to younger voters continues to grow.
