Capitol Hill Officer Who Evacuated Congress Claims J6 No ‘Insurrection’, Backing Ramaswamy
Tarik Johnson, the former Capitol Hill lieutenant who made international headlines for evacuating Congress during J6, told his followers on X that the protests that day did not amount to an “insurrection” as critics on the left have portrayed.
Referencing Vivek Ramaswamy’s recent comments during a CNN town hall, Johnson said the presidential candidate “got a lot right” and “no one would benefit more than I if J6 was an insurrection as I.
“If presidential hopeful Vivek Ramaswamy would like more FACTS to disrupt the insurrection narrative, I will inbox his designated representative my personal phone number. God bless our country now and in 2024,” he added.
Johnson, 51, was suspended and later fired from his position after complaining to U.S. Senator Patrick Leahy (D-VT) that he was not supported by higher-ups who rebuffed his requests to evacuate the buildings that day.
“[Assistant Chief Yogananda] Pittman flat out ignored me so I was forced to forge ahead with the evacuations without obtaining approval from her,” Johnson wrote, later taking his concerns to Sen. Leahy, “and approximately an hour after I got off the phone with the senator I was contacted by the USCP internal affairs section and informed I was suspended.
“The suspension lasted for 17 months and I was under a USCP gag order not to speak about the events of January 6, 2021 to the media until I separated from the Department. I was also required to remain in my house Monday through Friday from the hours of 8am to 4pm and unable to step off my property without notifying the USCP for fear of being disciplined up to and including termination during those 17 months. These are SOME of many facts USCP Chief J Thomas Manger (who is arguably the most corrupt politician in the country) was brought in to cover-up.”
Vivek Ramaswamy got a lot right in this interview. I’ve been saying publicly for a year that J6 was not an insurrection but not many people would listen. Ironically so, no one would benefit more than I if J6 was an insurrection as I (Tarik Johnson) was the Commander that ordered… https://t.co/mdUVfdVQff

During his recent town hall, Ramaswamy was challenged by host Abby Phillip to defend his claim that J6 was an “inside job.” The former biotech executive said he has come to learn that evidence about J6 has been suppressed and that the federal government has a history of not being truthful about events that don’t fit its narrative, from the origins of the Covid-19 pandemic to the Hunter Biden laptop and the alleged Trump-Russia collusion scandal.
“If you had told me in any way that January 6th was an inside job, the subject of government entrapment, I would have told you that was crazy talk. Fringe conspiracy theory nonsense. I can tell you, having gone somewhat deep in this, it’s not,” Ramaswamy told the crowd.
“We have a government [with] technology that has lied to us over the last several years,” he continued. “The reality is we know there were federal law enforcement agents in that field, we don’t know how many.”
Other Republicans like Rep. Clay Higgins (R-LA) have pointed to video evidence of unmarked vans bringing scores of individuals to the protests and challenged FBI Director Christopher Wray to explain how many men he had in the field. Wray refused to do so, though he admitted that Ray Epps – an instigator of violence who went years before being charged with a single felony – was not part of any efforts by the Bureau that day.
House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) has told colleagues that he is prepared to inject a new level of “intensity” into the search for evidence from J6 that challenges the original narrative put forth by a select committee blaming President Donald Trump, Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO), and other Republicans with encouraging the violent acts committed by several individuals that day.
