Chiefs Kicker’s Jersey EXPLODES In Popularity After Liberals Attempt To Cancel Him

Kansas City Chiefs player Harrison Butker has become the new flashpoint in a culture war about masculinity and family values after the kicker delivered a passionate graduation speech that has provoked outrage and calls for his cancellation.

Appearing at the Catholic school Benedictine College for its graduation ceremony on May 11th, Butker opined on a wide range of controversial topics from abortion and in-vitro fertilization (IVF) to a crisis in masculinity and a struggle for young women to balance a career with having children and raising a family. “Be unapologetic in your masculinity” and “fight against the cultural emasculation of men,” Butker espoused, according to People Magazine.

“For the ladies present today, congratulations on an amazing accomplishment. I want to speak directly to you briefly because I think it is you, the women, who have had the most diabolical lies told to you.” He continued, “Some of you may go on to lead successful careers in the world, but I would venture to guess that the majority of you are most excited about your marriage and the children you will bring into this world.”

The three-time Super Bowl champion received a standing ovation from graduating students, their parents, and college professors, the AP adds. Less than a day after his remarks drew widespread attention, conservatives now appear to be rallying to Butker’s defense online.

Free Beacon reporter Peter Hasson was the first to highlight that the kicker’s jersey has surpassed in popularity that of his quarterback and colleague Patrick Mahomes in the NFL’s online store, a remarkable feat considering Mahomes’ resumé.

As of Thursday morning, the NFL store lists the only Chiefs player with a more popular jersey than Butker’s was Travis Kelce, the boyfriend of Taylor Swift.

Conservatives coalescing behind individuals or causes — or attacking those they disagree with — has been a familiar theme over the past few years as they flex their counterweight in a cancel culture that mostly began with the #MeToo movement of 2017 and has since expanded far beyond allegations of sexual harassment or assault. They have rallied support behind Elon Musk, a free speech advocate, following his takeover of Twitter and rebranding his social media name under the X moniker. Last year’s overnight fame of Oliver Anthony propelled the virtually unknown Virginia country music singer to stratospheric heights thanks to conservatives who fell in love with his ballade “Rich Men North of Richmond.” They have taken the opposite tack as well, targeting corporations like Bud Light and Disney for woke advertising campaigns.

Butker will certainly need all the help he can get given the cold reception his remarks received from the NFL.

“Harrison Butker gave a speech in his personal capacity,” Jonathan Beane, the NFL’s senior vice president and chief diversity and inclusion officer, told People in a written statement. “His views are not those of the NFL as an organization. The NFL is steadfast in our commitment to inclusion, which only makes our league stronger.”

Aging hip-hop star Flavor Flav took a shot at Butker as well. “Sounds like some players “need to stay in their lanes” and shouldn’t be giving commencement speeches,” he wrote on X.
