FLASHBACK: Rush Limbaugh Predicted Trump’s Indictments
Before his passing, radio legend Rush Limbaugh presciently predicted that former President Donald Trump would be indicted by his opponents to prevent him from running for a second term.
On Tuesday that prediction came to pass as special counsel Jack Smith handed down a second federal indictment against the 45th president, charging him with obstruction of official proceedings as Congress moved to certify President Joe Biden as the winner of the 2020 election. President Trump has maintained his innocence and stated he asked his supporters to peacefully assemble at the Capitol on January 6, 2021, but Limbaugh said that wouldn’t stop Democrats from weaponizing the courts to try and prevent his return one day.
“I know that they desperately want Trump gone, and I know that they desperately want it codified that Trump cannot run again because make no mistake, they remain scared to death of you and they remain scared to death of Trump,” Limbaugh stated. “Trump’s 75 million, 80 million votes, and I’m going to tell you: you’re not going anywhere. Even if Trump does, you’re not.”

Even if the Republican leader were somehow jailed, he continued, the potency of his grassroots support would not stop the MAGA movement from remaining a force in American politics.
“They can’t separate you from Trump. And more importantly, they can’t separate you from the ideas. They can’t separate you from MAGA. They can’t separate you from Make America Great Again, which I think remains one of our big campaign strengths. They believe they can destroy this bond that exists between you and Trump. If they somehow make Trump look bad, make Trump look like a reprobate, embarrass you, they can’t do it because you came before Trump,” Limbaugh added.
The case against Trump’s actions following the 2020 elections is the second to be handed down by Smith, an appointee of U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland who has a history, according to Trump, of committing “political hit jobs” against politicians. The cost of Smith’s first case against Trump, which alleges he mishandled classified documents, is on pace to cost taxpayers $25 million in just one year.
