‘HERO’: Fox Producer Breaks Silence After Firing Over ‘Wannabe Dictator’ Chyron

A longtime Fox producer who was behind a chyron that labeled President Biden as a “wannabe dictator” has broken his silence after he was fired by the network.

After former President Donald Trump was arraigned on federal charges brought forward by the Biden Department of Justice, Fox News briefly aired a chyron that described the president as a “wannabe dictator.” The chyron generated outrage among leftists, mainstream media personalities and the Biden Administration while Fox News rushed to apologize and distance themselves.

The chyron, which read “WANNABE DICTATOR SPEAKS AT THE WHITE HOUSE AFTER HAVING HIS POLITICAL RIVAL ARRESTED,” was displayed just before 9 p.m. during the network’s live coverage of Trump’s remarks. It was then rapidly removed while the network told The Hill that “the chyron was taken down immediately and was addressed.”

Alex McCaskill, a producer who previously worked with former primetime host Tucker Carlson, was then fired by the network. Now, McCaskill has broken his silence on the matter in an Instagram post.

“Today was my last day at FOX. It’s been a wild 10 years and it was the best place I’ve ever worked because of the great people I’ve met,” McCaskill captioned a photo of him holding a box of his personal belongings. “But the time has come. I asked them to let me go, and they finally did. To all my friends there: I will miss you forever.”

Tucker Carlson focused on the incident in the latest installment of Tucker On Twitter. “If the banner on Fox was false, why the hysteria?” Tucker asked. “Lies don’t seem to bother anyone anymore. But calling Joe Biden a wannabe dictator, that stung.”

“Just because he’s trying to put the other candidate in prison for the rest of his life for a crime he himself committed doesn’t mean he has a totalitarian impulse. Come on, that’s absurd,” he joked. Carlson then listed a number of dictatorial characteristics and actions that have defined the Biden Administration, including illegal surveillance on millions of citizens, the persecution of January 6 protesters and reports that the IRS is stockpiling weapons and ammunition.
