Elon Musk Issues Dire Warning After Trump Indictment, Says DOJ Could Lose Public Trust
Tesla founder and Twitter owner Elon Musk warned that the Department of Justice is in danger of losing public trust in a tweet Saturday. The tech mogul also said that the investigations into Donald Trump appear politically motivated when compared with other politicians.
“There does seem to be far higher interest in pursuing Trump compared to other people in politics,” Musk said in response to the indictment. “Very important that the justice system rebut what appears to be differential enforcement or they will lose public trust.”

Trump and his allies have repeatedly slammed the case as politically motivated, pointing to other high-profile figures including Hillary Clinton and Joe Biden, neither of whom are facing charges despite their own classified documents scandals.
In the case of Hillary Clinton, former FBI Director James Comey infamously admitted that Clinton put classified information at risk when she opened a private email server for State Department communications. Though he admitted Clinton and her aides likely violated the law, he added that “no reasonable prosecutor” would bring charges.
As for President Biden, classified documents have been found in a former office of the Philadelphia-based Penn-Biden center, a law office in Boston and his garage in Delaware.
NBC news reported that Biden’s advisors have determined that he will grant an interview to the special counsel investigating his handling of classified documents once his legal team and the Justice Department agree on the conditions. Biden has not submitted to an interview with the special counsel, however.
Former President Trump meanwhile is facing a 37-count indictment despite having the ability to de-classify information as president. Trump has maintained his innocence and pointed to previous investigations that turned up empty, including the Mueller investigation.
