“Not Havin’ Gavin”: Greasy Gavin Newsom Savaged for Anti-Second Amendment Statement

Speaking on her show, the Ingraham Angle, Fox News Host Laura Ingraham sounded off on California Governor Gavin Newsom as a response to what he said about the 2nd Amendment following the two shootings in California that recently took place. Going on the warpath against Newsom during her monologue, she said:

If [Gavin Newsom is] the Democrats’ post-Biden plan B, they’re in trouble. Leaders take charge, and when necessary, they take responsibility. But what does he do? He takes lowbrow potshots. When he wasn’t blaming the 2nd Amendment to the Constitution, he was gaslighting the First. Attacking the free press — well, the one network that consistently holds him accountable, telling an ABC affiliate in California that it’s a disgrace what we say at Fox every night.

He said, “There’s xenophobia, there’s racial priming” — whatever that is — “What they’ve done to perpetuate crime and violence in this country.”

What? Xenophobia? Racial priming? Newsom immediately tried to tie the attacks to right-wing Trump supporters. And, of course, other top Democrats did the same. Anti-gun zealot Chuck Schumer tweeted about the need to stand up to bigotry and hate, and the odious Adam Schiff claimed AAPI bigotry was a possible motive in the shootings. And with Newsom and the gang’s reflexive call for more gun control, even CBS and MSNBC had to admit that California already has the strictest gun laws in the country.

For reference, Gavin Newsom said, when asked about the recent shooting by CBS News, that “the Second Amendment is becoming a suicide pact.” That came after he said “Nothing about this is surprising. Everything about this is infuriating.”

He also said, when asked about the shooter using a pistol that was illegal in California, “That’s going to happen. You got to enforce laws. Things fall through the cracks, but it doesn’t mean you give up.”

Further, he noted that mental health is a problem, but then of course said that the 2nd Amendment is the real issue because other countries have people with mental health problems but don’t have mass shootings, saying:

“I’m really proud of the work we’ve done in [the mental health] space, but we’ve had decades of neglect. But respectfully, I will submit that regardless of the challenges it relates to behavioral health, there’s not a country in the world that doesn’t experience behavioral health issues.”

Newsom did try to hedge his anti-gun comments by saying that he has “great respect” for the 2nd Amendment and that he has “no ideological opposition to someone reasonably and responsibly owning firearms and getting background checks and being trained.”

Laura Ingraham wasn’t the only one to savage Newsom for his comments, Replying to a tweet in which Newsom said “At the hospital meeting with victims of a mass shooting when I get pulled away to be briefed about another shooting. This time in Half Moon Bay. Tragedy upon tragedy.,” one commenter pointed out that California is plagued by violence despite its strict gun laws, saying:

Assault weapons. Banned. Standard Capacity Magazines. Banned. Pistol Grips. Banned. Too many accessories. Banned. Murder, Manslaughter, Assault, Battery, illegal. California still leads the country in number of mass shootings. Its time to ask why this still happens, Gavin.
