REPORT: First American Released By Hamas Is RELATED To A Hunter Biden Art Buyer

Reports surfaced Monday that the great-aunt of the youngest American hostage released by Hamas is linked to the controversial art dealings of Hunter Biden, the son of President Joe Biden.

The great-aunt in question, Ms. Elizabeth Hirsch Naftali, is reported to have purchased art from Hunter Biden before being appointed by Joe Biden to the U.S. Commission for the Preservation of America’s Heritage Abroad.

The connection, revealed by Real Clear Investigations’ Benjamin Weingarten on X, sparked concerns over potential conflicts of interest and nepotism within the Biden administration.

It is unclear whether Naftali’s purchase of Hunter’s art occurred before or after her appointment to the commission. Adding to the controversy is the fact that Hunter’s former business associate, Eric Schwerin, was previously appointed to the same commission by President Obama.

In July, the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability probed into Hunter’s art career, focusing on its potential use for peddling influence and access to the White House.

Despite assurances from the White House that the identities of Hunter Biden’s art purchasers would be kept confidential, it was revealed that Democrat donor Elizabeth Hirsch Naftali, who had bought at least one piece of Hunter Biden’s artwork, was appointed by Joe Biden to the Commission for the Preservation of America’s Heritage Abroad.

James Comer (R-KY) sent letters to Naftali seeking information about her purchase of Hunter’s artwork, her appointment to the Commission, and the White House’s role in the sale of his artwork.

The investigation was centered around the potential failure of the system designed to keep Hunter’s business dealings separate from his father’s administration. This concern was amplified by the fact that Hunter had previously helped elevate his business partner, Eric Schwerin, to the same commission during Joe Biden’s vice presidency.

The Committee also investigated the Biden family’s foreign and domestic influence-peddling schemes, including the sale of high-priced artwork by the President’s son. Hunter Biden’s art dealer, George Bergès, had not responded to the Committee’s requests for interviews and information about the art transactions.

The investigation was part of a broader scrutiny into how Biden family members and their associates earned millions of dollars from foreign sources, often using third parties to conceal the source and nature of the funds.
