WATCH: Biden Tramples Flowerbed To Kiss John McCain’s Vietnam Memorial In Bizarre Sequence
During Sunday’s visit to Hanoi, Vietnam, Joe Biden took a moment to honor the memory of his late friend and Senate colleague, John McCain.
Biden approached the memorial dedicated to McCain and planted a kiss on it. The bond between Biden and McCain was well-known and transcended traditional party lines.
The memorial marks the site where McCain, then a Navy pilot during the Vietnam War, was shot down in 1967. He was subsequently held as a prisoner of war for over five years.
However, in his eagerness to pay tribute, Biden inadvertently stepped on a flowerbed surrounding the memorial.

Both Biden and McCain served in the U.S. Senate for several decades, with their tenures overlapping for over 20 years. During this time, they worked together on numerous issues and even though they often found themselves on opposite sides of the political aisle.
