U.S. Rep. Byron Donalds (R-FL) received a warm ovation at the Florida Freedom Summit on Saturday after he predicted that former President Donald Trump would be re-elected.

Saturday’s event became a campaign stop for the majority of top Republican presidential candidates, including former President Trump, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and others. Former UN ambassador Nikki Haley — who has benefited from a polling surge in recent weeks — was initially slated to speak but ultimately decided not to attend.

The summit also included a number of additional conservative leaders from the state of Florida, including Rep. Donalds, who was popular with the crowd.

“Can you just bring Trump back? That’s what they’re saying,” Donalds said, drawing applause.

The House Freedom Caucus member when on to declare that former President Trump would be re-elected with significant support from independents and former Democrats.

“What I know is, is that the radical left thinks that everybody’s just going to fall in line. But Joe Biden has been so bad as the 46th president of the United States that a lot of voters who aren’t really Republican voters are going to vote to make Donald Trump the 47th president of the United States,” Donalds said, leading to loud cheers in his leading opponent’s home state.

Donalds also told the crowd that formal articles of impeachment against President Biden will likely be filed in the near future. “I’ve never seen anybody get a check from their brother for $200,000,” the Florida conservative said, referencing the latest Biden family transaction verified by House investigators.

“I’ve never seen anything like this. I’ve never seen an administration that knowingly spied on the American people and suppressed the voices of the American people to cover up for their son, blatantly cover up, to the point that we have 40 FBI agents who have all come and have told us on the Oversight Committee that they were blocked in their investigations,” he continued.

Donalds then addressed frustration over lack of action and vowed to press for impeachment. “So I know we always talk about, well, are you gonna hold them accountable? What are you gonna do about it, Byron? I’m telling you, we are hold them accountable? What are you gonna do about it, Byron?” he said.

“I’m telling you, we are very, very close, in my view, to having articles of impeachment on Joe Biden.”
