WATCH: Devon Archer Arrives Smiling For Bombshell Testimony On Biden Bribery Scheme
Star witness Devon Archer arrived on Capitol Hill today and he was apparently in a very good mood. Smiling and laughing, he strolled into a building for his transcribed interview with congressional investigators. In the video below, Catherine Herridge from CBS News asked, “what will you tell congressional investigators about Hunter Biden’s business deals.” Mr. Archer, still smiling, responded “no comment.”
Another video captured much the same smiley attitude by Mr. Archer and his similar policy of not commenting to questions by the press.

Devon Archer was a close business associate and friend of Hunter Biden. He claims to have been witness to dozens of meetings between then-Vice President Joe Biden, Hunter Biden, and various business associates. Archer was also on the same board as Hunter of the Ukrainian energy firm Burisma Holdings that allegedly gave a $10 million bribe to the Biden family in exchange for Joe Biden using his political office to stop investigations by Ukraine into the company. In fact, Mr. Archer may have been the one to have secured Hunter Biden’s appointment to Burisma’s board.
Under the leadership of James Comer, the House Oversight Committee subpoenaed Mr. Archer for this deposition today. Biden’s DOJ responded on Saturday to Archer’s expected testimony by writing a letter to a judge asking the judge, in words of Miranda Devine, “to order Archer to go to jail immediately to serve a one year sentence for his fraud conviction.” While the Twitter community note attached to this revelation by the journalist Miranda Devine observes that “[t]his admin request is *not* expected to have any impact on his schedule Monday”, it still may ring of an attempt to intimidate the witness.
The DOJ is trying to arrest Devon Archer ahead of his bombshell testimony Monday about Joe Biden’s involvement in his son Hunter’s Ukraine business when he was VP. As Robert Barnes, a constitutional and veteran trial lawyer, pointed out that this is “[l]ikely DOJ retaliation” at Mr. Archer.
No risk of #DevonArcher arrested before his Monday Congressional hearing. Government filed a request with the court to set a self-surrender date, which Archer objects to pending his appeal. Issue will get litigated by the court, but not before Monday. Likely DOJ retaliation.

Mr. Barnes explained that “this has the hallmarks of an intimidation effort. Wanna testify? Sure, but we just remembered we want you ordered to prison while your appeal is pending, and felt so compelled, we had to send it on a Saturday before your Monday testimony.”
FYI: @megynkelly is correct that this has the hallmarks of an intimidation effort. Wanna testify? Sure, but we just remembered we want you ordered to prison while your appeal is pending, and felt so compelled, we had to send it on a Saturday before your Monday testimony. https://t.co/hSE2Fm4Hpp

The government can ask for Mr. Archer to start serving his jail time given his 2018 conviction for “defrauding a Native American tribal entity and other investors out of tens of millions of dollars in a bond-selling scheme.” Mr. Archer has still not been sentenced given that he only lost his appeal of the verdict a month ago.
