WATCH: Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson Says He Regrets Endorsing Biden

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson spoke candidly about his regrets about endorsing President Joe Biden in 2020, telling Fox News that the state of America today is leading him to take a different approach in how he lends his support to political candidates.

The actor and former professional wrestler told Fox News that he is pessimistic about how America has fared under his previous pick for president.

“Am I happy about the state of America right now? Well, that answer is no,” Johnson said. “Do I believe we’re going to get better? I believe in that.

“I’m an optimistic guy, and I believe we can get better.”

With former President Donald Trump soaring in the polls in most swing states, it would be excusable for viewers to think that Johnson is one of his converts. Not quite yet, he said.

“The endorsement that I made years ago with Biden was one I thought was the best decision for me at that time. I’m in this position where I have some influence and it’s my job then… to exercise my influence to share with who this is who I’m going to endorse,” he told the host.

“Am I going to do that again this year? That answer is no.”

Johnson, who entertained calls to run for president himself, is just one among millions of Americans who have soured on Biden amid persistent inflation, high-interest rates, and unrest in the Middle East that has torn Democrats between supporting Israel or Palestinians.

When asked who they would trust to improve the economy, 55% of respondents in a recent poll said Biden will lead to higher prices while 34% said a second Trump would lower prices on most goods. The Democratic incumbent’s approval on managing the Middle East has cratered to just 27%, forcing Biden to walk a tightrope between a majority of Americans who stand with Israel and a majority of voters in his own party who are more sympathetic to Palestinians. The riff has split the Democratic Party between the Squad and stalwarts of Israel and led to threats of sitting out Biden’s reelection.

Other celebrities who are toying with supporting president President Trump’s reelection include comedians Michael Rapaport, Roseanne Barr, and a slew of new-generation hip-hop artists.
