WATCH: Rashida Tlaib Breaks Down In Tears On House Floor

A bizarre scene unfolded on the floor of the U.S. House Thursday morning when far-left Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) broke down in tears while delivering a brief call for peace in the Middle East — with no mention of President Donald Trump freeing the last American hostage held by Hamas.

With emotion in her voice rising, the Michigan Democrat declared her wish that the “Nakba” — the Palestinian term for their decades-long displacement — would soon come to an end. Tlaib, who represents the heavily Muslim community of Dearborn as well as Detroit, could barely contain herself as a pained supporter looked on from behind.

“One day they will be free,” she said, rubbing tears from her eyes while her friend reached over a row of chairs to squeeze her shoulder.

Since the Oct. 7, 2023, attack on Israel by Hamas, Tlaib and fellow “Squad” member Ilhan Omar (D-MN) have been censured for making antisemitic comments in defense of Palestinians.

Tlaib received a House censure for chanting the pro-Palestinian phrase “from the river to the sea, Palestine will be free” during a rally less than a month after the attack, where she opposed Israel’s Gaza campaign to defeat Hamas. Many Zionist Jews believe the chant is a tacit call for the total elimination of Israel.

In response to the censure, Omar held a press conference a short time later, accusing Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) of “Islamophobia” for introducing the resolution. She was quickly provoked into an outburst after a reporter asked if she would condemn Hamas.

“How many more killings is enough for you?” Omar shouted. “Is it a thousand more? Two thousand more? Three thousand? How many more Palestinians would make you happy if they died? Would you be fine if all of the people of Gaza were gone?”

Nine months earlier, Omar was the target of a Republican-led censure that saw her stripped of her position on the Foreign Affairs Committee after the Minnesota Democrat publicly questioned the ability of lawmakers who receive donations from AIPAC, the largest pro-Israel lobbying group in the U.S., to be unbiased in their assessments of the Israeli government.

Like Tlaib, she has recently been prone to further emotional outbursts that have sidelined her among establishment Democrats eager to put the Squad’s far-left posturing in the rearview mirror. She drew headlines after appearing to shove a conservative journalist tailing her on the street, and a GOP congressman earlier this year began circulating a petition calling for her to be deported amid new credible allegations that she married her biological brother to prevent his own deportation years ago.
