WATCH: Trump Hints U.S. May Have Been Behind Nord Stream Pipeline Explosions

Former President Donald Trump offered his comments on the Nord Stream pipeline explosion while appearing in a Tuesday interview with Fox News’ Tucker Carlson.

The former president made a vague statement regarding who was responsible for the explosion. “I don’t want to get our country in trouble, so I won’t answer it,” Trump told Carlson after being asked about who was behind the pipeline’s explosion.

“But I can tell you who it wasn’t, was Russia. How about when they blamed Russia? They said Russia blew up their own pipeline. You got a kick out of that one too! It wasn’t Russia,” Trump said.

In Sep. 2022, Carlson suggested the Nord Stream 1 and 2 gas pipelines were sabotaged by the Biden administration. Carlson played a clip of Biden from two weeks before the Russia/Ukraine conflict began where the president warned about the pipeline could be ended by the US if Russia invaded Ukraine.

“If Russia invades that means tanks or troops crossing the border of Ukraine again. Then there will be — there will be no longer a Nord Stream 2. We will bring an end to it,” Biden told a reporter.

“But how will you — how will you do that, exactly, since the project and control of the project is within Germany’s control?” the reporter questioned.

“We will — I promise you, we’ll be able to do it,” Biden replied.

Carlson went on to say Biden’s comments should lead one to believe his administration was behind the pipeline explosions. “He [Biden] didn’t say, ‘I will pause the delivery of gas from Russia to Germany.’ He said there won’t be a Nord Stream 2. We’ll put an end to it. We’ll take it out. We’ll blow it up,” Carlson said.

Carlson also played a clip of State Department official Victoria Nuland where she pledged, in January, that the pipeline would “not move forward” if Russia invaded Ukraine.

“Looking back, those words seem chilling eight months later. As natural gas pours into the Baltic Sea and into the atmosphere… Could the Biden administration really do something like this,” Carlson asked.

Carlson’s full September monologue can be seen below.
