Republican Congressman Byron Donalds (R-FL) sat in the lion’s den last night as he took CNN analysts to task for refusing to move on from the 2020 election and Ukraine’s war with Russia, saying President Donald Trump used his town hall to focus on what Americans actually care about: high costs, dangerous drugs, and competition from China.

“Everything that was just talked about is not on the minds of independent voters in America. They are focused on the things that are affecting their families. First and foremost, has my child actually caught up from being locked out of schools for two years? Is fentanyl, which is a major issues in so many communities around our country, is the president going to do the job of securing the border and stopping the drug cartels from having operational control of our southern border?” asked Donalds.

The Republican stalwart also touched on China’s efforts to devalue the American dollar, the global standard for international trade, and replace it with the yuan.

As the discussion turned to comments made by President Trump on Ukraine, Rep. Donalds pushed back on assertions by his colleagues that the former president was willing to “hand over Ukraine to Russia” rather than continue the international community’s defense for the country.

“What [President Trump] said was he would actually look for a solution to end it quickly. He put 24 hours on it, but let’s be very clear: what Joe Biden has done has been a disaster,” Donalds asserted.

Trump, pressured by CNN host Kaitlan Collins to state who he wants to “win” the ongoing war, instead plead for the violence to stop and said he would end the conflict within 24 hours after retaking the White House. Rep. Donalds didn’t hesitate to call out CNN for what he claims was coverage that intimated President Trump was a “Russian spy.”

Since endorsing Trump’s reelection campaign, the Florida congressman has been a staple on cable news outlets and gone to great lengths to defend Trump in his bid to unseat President Biden.
