BREAKING: Huge Impeachment Update Catches Biden Family By Surprise
House Republicans on Wednesday signaled that full impeachment proceedings against President Joe Biden could begin within the next few weeks, with one top congressman pointing to the White House’s stonewalling as evidence that the investigation must proceed beyond its initial inquiry phase.
Rep. Tom Emmer (R-MN) said in a closed-door session of the GOP caucus that a vote to officially kick off impeachment hearings is imminent, according to veteran Capitol Hill reporter Jake Sherman. The Minnesota Republican laid the blame at Biden’s feet, claiming he and his staff are not turning over documents or sitting for interviews as part of the impeachment inquiry, typically the first step to determine if sufficient grounds exist for impeachment.

Rep. Emmer, who controls the schedule of Congress as Clerk, takes his orders from House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) who said upon his election last month that President Biden’s days without impeachment are numbered.
Speaking with Fox News host Sean Hannity, the Louisiana Republican said the trove of documents produced by colleagues like Rep. James Comer (R-KY) and Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) prove that Biden, while vice president and in the subsequent years, flouted legal and ethical boundaries to help his son Hunter and various business associates earn millions of dollars from foreign companies.
“I believe the documents are proving all of that as my good brother Jamie Comer often says, the bank records don’t lie. So we have the receipts on so much of this now. It’s a real problem. That’s the reason that we shifted into the impeachment inquiry stage on a president himself, because if in fact, all the evidence leads to where we believe it will, that’s very likely impeachable offenses,” said Johnson.
The White House in response has criticized reporters for asking about President Biden’s shifting answers related to his family business dealings and pressured mainstream media outlets to report on Republicans’ “lies” about the president. Asked personally for comment, the president has snapped at reporters for questioning if he personally benefited from the business activities of his son, Hunter Biden.
House Republicans have already shown that President Biden personally received at least $40,000 from family members that came as a result of overseas business activities by Hunter and associates. The President’s son, who has been charged with tax evasion and gun crimes, remains under investigation for violating laws around failing to register as a foreign agent while representing overseas corporations.
