WATCH: KJP Abruptly ENDS Briefing When Asked About Biden Payments
During Monday’s White House briefing, Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre faced pressing questions about Joe Biden’s financial involvement with his son Hunter Biden. However, the briefing took an abrupt turn when Jean-Pierre ended the session early without answering.
“One of Hunter Biden’s businesses, Osawa P.C., set up direct payments to the President. Did the President accept payment?” the reporter asked. “And why would there be such an arrangement if they were never in business together or if there was a wall of separation, as the President has previously said?”
“I have not seen that report, so I would have to refer you to my colleagues over at the White House Counsel’s Office on that particular question,” Jean-Pierre claimed.
“All right, everyone. See some of you in Boston or on Wednesday.”
Questions raised by reporters refer to documents released by the House Oversight Committee, led by Representative James Comer (R-KY). These documents show that Owasco P.C., a company linked to Hunter Biden, set up direct payments to President Joe Biden, challenging the administration’s previous assertions of no business ties between the President and his son.
Jean-Pierre’s response to the query was brief and non-committal. The response did little to address the growing concerns over the Biden family’s financial dealings and the potential conflict of interest they pose.
Rep. Comer, in his capacity as the head of the Oversight Committee, has been vocal about the need for clarity and accountability. He has previously accused Joe Biden of lying about the separation between his official duties and his family’s business ventures. The latest developments, as brought to light in the press briefing, only add to the cloud of suspicion.
“President Joe Biden claimed there was an ‘absolute wall’ between his official government duties and his family’s influence peddling schemes,” Comer said on Monday.
“This was a lie.”
The Oversight Committee’s investigation has brought to light that these were not mere personal transactions from Hunter Biden’s account, but payments from a corporate entity that has been receiving funds from various sources, including China. This is particularly concerning given the ongoing Department of Justice investigation into Hunter Biden for allegations of tax evasion and other serious offenses, using Owasco P.C. as a conduit.
The Oversight Committee’s investigation has been intensifying, with a focus on the extent of Joe Biden’s involvement in his family’s domestic and international business activities. The committee’s efforts have been bolstered by whistleblower testimony and a federal judge’s rejection of a proposed plea deal, which hinted at a possible cover-up attempt by the Justice Department to protect the Bidens.
“When Joe Biden was Vice President, he spoke by phone, attended dinners, and had coffee with his son’s foreign business associates,” said Comer. “He allowed his son to catch a ride on Air Force Two at least a dozen times to sell the “Biden Brand” around the world.”
The evidence of direct payments to Joe Biden from Hunter’s business entity is a significant development in the ongoing Biden family saga. This includes the fact that these payments were made by a corporation with ties to foreign entities, including China— and the abrupt end to the press briefing by Jean-Pierre has raised more questions than answers.
