JD Vance Jokes That Kamala Drank ‘4 Shots Of Vodka’ Before White House Meetings
Critics of the Biden-Harris administration often joked that former Vice President Kamala Harris was the living, breathing embodiment of “Veep,” the comedy show where a vice president and her subordinates joked about being “high-functioning alcoholics” running the free world. According to Vice President J.D. Vance, that may not have been too far from the truth.
Asked how he approaches the job differently from his predecessor, Vance sounded genuine as he laughed about the premise.
“Well, I don’t have four shots of Vodka before every meeting,” he told podcast host Vince Coglianese.
“That’s one way I think Kamala really tried to bring herself into the role,” he joked.
Going on, the Republican explained that he’ll probably never be able to match Harris’s penchant for “word salads” when explaining “fancy things” like artificial intelligence.
“I think I would need the help of a lot of alcohol to answer a question the way Kamala Harris answered questions.”

Indeed, some of Harris’s behavior at official events was out of character, and jokes about her possible use of substances to get through the day were a running undercurrent within conservative circles.
During a campaign stop at the South Carolina NAACP’s annual King Day at the Dome, Harris laughingly reminded the audience of how “old” they all are. Her loopy grin and gesticulating handwaving were just a little too much for the internet.
“I see our college students up there,” said Harris as she laughed and flung a raise-the-roof gesture their way.
“Let me just tell you, I love Gen Z. I don’t know, you know, some people… I love Gen Z,” she continued as someone shouted back, “We love you!”
Harris’s odd behavior extended to state functions, where she was caught on tape singing and clapping during a protest in Puerto Rico. The unaware vice president initially thought protestors arrived to welcome her before an aide whispered that they were there to denounce the administration’s support of Israel. Harris quickly stopped clapping and shuffled indoors.
And although it may have been impossible to outdo the endless gaffes of 82-year-old Joe Biden’s, Harris certainly gave it her best try. She defended her boss as “very much alive” before he was forced to end his embattled campaign, one of the most vacant, head-scratching statements ever made by a White House occupant.
Presently, Harris is believed to be weighing a 2028 run for the presidency, and the struggles of her husband — who has had his own issues with alcohol — are said to be a consideration. Allies of Harris have described Doug Emhoff as “dead weight” now that she is free of public office, while some have blamed the former second gentleman for contributing to her loss last November.
During the final weeks of the campaign, friends of a woman allegedly abused by Emhoff came forward to tell a shocking story about him physically beating her after a party in Las Vegas. The Harris campaign denied the allegations and claimed the women were fabricating the story.
