‘JUST SAY AYE’: Colleagues, Aides Beg 90-Year-Old Senator Feinstein Not To Explain Her Vote

At the ripe age of 90, California’s Democrat Senator Dianne Feinstein has remained in the Senate despite severe physical and cognitive limitations. Today, she took to the floor to comment on the latest defense appropriations bill, only it was during the vote.

Feinstein started her speech by saying, “I would like to support a ‘yes’ vote on this. It provides …” before being interrupted by fellow Senator Patty Murray.

As she began to deliver her commentary on why the bill is a positive, Murray (D-WA) realized something was off and whispered, “Just say ‘aye.'” Feinstein appeared ruffled and unaware of the simple and ordinary process.

An aide also walked over and whispered into Feinstein’s ear, presumably ordering the aging Senator to say ‘aye’ and move along.

Feinstein returned to Washington D.C. in May following a challenging recovery from shingles that led to complications including Ramsay Hunt syndrome and a previously undisclosed case of encephalitis.

Her health issues have raised concerns about her ability to continue serving effectively, with many representatives calling for her resignation.

Feinstein’s latest gaffe comes a day after Republican Minority Leader Mitch McConnell appeared to suffer a medical episode during a GOP leadership press conference on Wednesday.
