Philadelphia DA Wants Second Amendment Gutted, Warns Against ‘Bigotry’ Directed Towards Recent Mass Shooter
Far-left Philadelphia District Attorney called for a federal crackdown on gun ownership in the wake of a mass shooting that left five dead and several others, including two minors, wounded. Krasner also warned that “transphobia” would not be tolerated in a press conference after the shooter was identified as a cross-dressing Black Lives Matter supporter.
“It’s time for this legislature and legislatures across the country to swear off their addiction to NRA money. And swear off their addiction to this gun fetish,” Krasner ranted during an appearance on CNN. He also called on lawmakers to abandon, “this absurd interpretation of the 2nd Amendment that has been put out there by militias.”
“And frankly, it’s time for the Supreme Court to cut it out. This should not be a country of guns, it should be a country of people,” Krasner went on to say.

Philadelphia — which has the highest murder rate amongst America’s 10 largest cities — already has strict gun laws.
Though he has called for increased gun control on numerous occasions, Krasner seemingly has trouble enforcing gun laws that are already on the books. He has failed to obtain a conviction on nearly 50% of gun cases since taking office, a far lower conviction rate than his predecessors.
In addition to calling for gun control, Krasner has warned that “bigotry” directed towards the city’s latest mass shooter will not be tolerated.
Just as we would never tolerate an act of gun violence from any member of the community, we cannot tolerate acts of hatred and bigotry directed at members of any community, including the most marginalized among us,” Krasner said during a press conference. “While law enforcement’s investigation of this mass shooting is still active and ongoing, there are certain facts we can acknowledge: Trans and gender-nonconforming people are subjected to a great deal of state-sanctioned bigotry and the poverty, violence, and victimization that marginalized people endure.”
“A culture that seeks to isolate trans and gender-nonconforming people from the full benefits of democracy is a culture that encourages violence against LGBTQ+ people. Trans and gender-nonconforming people are not the danger,” he continued. “A culture that encourages violence against out groups and that simultaneously cheers when communities are flooded with weapons of war — that culture is the danger.”
