Trump Just Announced A Complete Endorsement By This Swing State’s Entire GOP Congressional Delegation
The campaign for former President Donald Trump on Tuesday notched a critical win, securing endorsements from the entire Republican delegation of Michigan. The president’s team reported that all seven Republican congressmen lent their names to a joint statement to Fox News.
“We’re proud to announce our full endorsement of President Donald J. Trump. Under the Trump presidency, America was prosperous, the economy was strong, the world was a safer place, and Michiganders were better off. President Trump has proven he has the ability to deliver results on Day One and also the ability to win in key battleground states like Michigan, being the only Republican to win a Presidential race here since 1988,” said the Republican delegation.

For decades, Michigan had been off the radar of Republicans running for president who wrote off campaigning there as liberal enclaves like Ann Arbor dominated polling places and reliably delivered the state’s 16 Electoral College votes for Democrats. President Trump shocked the nation when he upset his 2016 rival Hillary Clinton to notch the party’s first presidential win there since the era of Ronald Reagan.
The decision by Michigan Republicans to stand by their former commander-in-chief is a crushing blow to Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, who has stumbled out of the gate to appear as a viable alternative to Trump, and represents the party’s coalescing behind the former president despite his looming criminal indictments. Likely GOP primary voters have paved the way for elected Republicans to safely endorse Trump, telling pollsters they believe that the charges against Trump are politically motivated and providing him with a windfall of donations following charges in the classified documents case.
President Trump’s success in Michigan follows previous successes in Governor DeSantis’s home state where a large segment of the Republican delegation has endorsed the former president. Rep. Byron Donalds (R-FL) has taken to the airwaves to defend President Trump as a powerful international figure capable of bringing an end to the war in Ukraine and pushing back on efforts by China to unfairly devalue U.S. currency. The 45th president is miles ahead of his competition in terms of congressional endorsements, capturing nods from 62 elected members of the House of Representatives compared to five for Governor DeSantis.
