‘MIRACULOUS’: American Thanks Trump For Safe Return Home From Israel

One American who survived Hamas’ onslaught of Israel is thanking former President Donald Trump for enabling him to escape the carnage through a neighboring country.

Yitz Friedman of the American Accountability Foundation made public his support for President Trump after boarding one of the few flights out of Israel to the United Arab Emirates, which established diplomatic ties under President Trump’s administration. Without the new partnership, Friedman posted on X, his exit would not have been possible.

“I would like to thank President Trump. After days of fear and anxiety in Israel, I am finally on my way home to the US. Almost every airline canceled all flights, including our flight home,” Friedman wrote Tuesday.

“We [weren’t] sure what to do,” Friedman recounted. “Luckily, one [of] the few airlines still running flights is Emirates. My wife and I just flew from Tel Aviv – passing three or four armed military checkpoints to get to the airport – and are now safe in Dubai waiting for our connecting flight to the US.”

In 2020 the UAE and Israel agreed to normalize relations in a historic peace treaty known as the Abraham Accords. The Muslim and Jewish nations spent decades on ice before new partnerships began to emerge in the 2010s, leading to the ties formed thanks to President Trump and his son-in-law Jared Kushner who spearheaded the administration’s Middle East initiatives.
Kushner was on hand for the inaugural flights that year, traveling from Israel’s Ben Gurion Airport to Abu Dhabi with members of the National Security Agency.
“If not for the Trump Abraham Accords, this would be unthinkable. There would be no flights from Israel to the UAE,” Friedman wrote. “To be able to fly to a friendly Arab country when even American flights won’t dare, at a time of war, is miraculous.”
