WATCH: Trump Humiliates Fox News Over Low Debate Ratings In Scathing Clip
On Thursday, former President Donald Trump lambasted Fox News for its disappointing ratings during the latest Republican presidential primary debate. Trump, who has a history of emphasizing the importance of television ratings, did not mince words in his critique.
“The debate on Fox News had a hard time with the proverbial ratings. You know what television ratings are, it’s all about the ratings,” Trump began. He went on to say that the debate was “one of the lowest ever rated in terms of debates, if not the lowest.”
Trump didn’t stop at criticizing the network; he also took aim at the debate participants, calling them “second-tier people.” Specifically, he mentioned former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie and former Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson, whom he mockingly referred to as “Ada Hutchinson.”
“They were merely pretenders to the throne. These aren’t presidential people. These aren’t presidential talents,” Trump said, further diminishing the credibility of the candidates who took part in the debate.
“Some of the answers were so bad, with delivery even worse,” Trump continued. He compared the recent debate’s ratings to those of a debate he participated in during the 2016 election cycle, stating, “The numbers were less than half of what they were in a debate that I happened to participate in in 2016.”

Trump concluded his remarks by turning his attention to President Joe Biden, whom he called “the worst president in the history of our country,” as well as “the most corrupt” and “the most incompetent.”
“Not a good way to start the fight against crooked Joe Biden and his absolute lunatic thugs,” Trump warned. “We will not let this country suffer any more under the reign of a man that can’t put two sentences together.”
He ended his scathing critique with a rallying cry for the 2024 presidential election: “We will win in 2024. We’re going to make our country great again.”
Reports have indicated that Tucker Carlson’s interview with Trump significantly outperformed Fox News’ GOP presidential debate in terms of viewership last week.
After adjusting for different audience measurements between cable television and social media, it was found that 19 million viewers watched Carlson’s 45-minute interview with Trump. In contrast, Fox’s GOP debate drew 12.8 million viewers.
Yesterday, Fox News revealed that Stuart Varney and Dana Perino will co-moderate the second Republican presidential primary debate. They will be joined by Univision’s Ilia Calderón for the event scheduled for September 27 on the FOX Business Network.
The debate will be hosted by the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Institute in Simi Valley, California.
